Consumption and Diversion at NJITWater, electricity, and natural gas are typically major contributors to an institution’s overall Greenhouse Gas Emissions. The charts to the right summarize NJIT’s overall consumption of water, electricity, and natural gas between the 2022-2023 Fiscal Year (July 2022 - June 2023) and the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year (July 2023 - June 2024). These charts will be updated per year to reflect patterns in the change in overall consumption at NJIT. In addition to this is an up-to-date chart of NJIT’s overall waste diversion, divided into landfill, recycling, composting, and e-waste rates. Each section of the waste diversion pie chart represents the proportion of overall waste at NJIT diverted into each of the above four categories. We can actively improve waste diversion rates and decrease consumption rates by practicing sustainable living and recycling regularly. Visit the Office of Sustainability’s Recycling informational page for more information on recycling and waste diversion.

United Nations' Sustainable Development ReportThe United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by all of the UN Member States in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with a plan to achieve each of the 17 goals in 15 years.
